Sky HD?

  • I wouldn't think the HD is worth it yet as most of the HD channels tend to be pay-per-view anyway. However, by all accounts the Sky+ certainly is worth getting. A number of colleagues have Sky+ and rave about it constantly. That has also come down a lot in price too.

Also, if it's good enough for Parkie, they must be doing something right!
  • I had sky hd for 3 months, it was a nightmare.

The boxes have staggering amount of bugs, random crashes, missguided features and corruption, I've had 7 HD boxes now and finally downgraded to sky+

For example, if you are watching HD through a HDMI output to your TV all 4:3 programs gets stretched to wide aspect ratio like it or not, no option to change that, the only way to view it in 4:3 is to also hook the HD box to a SCART intput on your TV and flipping back and forth between HDMI and SCART.

I'd say avoid it like the plague, sky claims new brand of HD boxes are coming out end of the year and they should have the problems fixed
  • Thanks for the comments guys. I will hold off on HD then and just get multiroom and Sky+ for now.
