At least with Dracula there was a residence of sorts but I only recently saw 'Hostel' and it had no attachment other than a video nasty take on globalisation: an American and a Scandanavian get slain by an Eastern European because a Russian chick sent them to a dodgy hostel somewhere in Bratislava.
