The irony!
The anarchist sporting mass produced, capitalist attire. Reminds me of the popular t-shirt, popular amongst anti-consumerist protests of the iconic Che Guevara image. Mass produced etc, etc, etc
Ah hell who am I kidding, I have one stuffed away somewhere too.

Come to think of it, in ancient greece, Nike originally referenced(quick wikipedia search) .... Greek goddess of victory. Ahhh now I get it. Our culture of "just do it" leading to rapidly snowballing riots of misunderstanding. A cop makes a mistake and within hours all of Greece is in turmoil, under a "just do it" mentality. The home of philosophy should be the first to take a step back and think about an event. To see these tensions have been rising for awhile and a major change is needed, not rioting.

Re: Just do it

those pics are just something else.
are you encouraging me to riot paul?
:)

Re: S3Fox

Hi Paul,

I'm looking for a good offsite backup solution for my SVN repository backups. One thing that keeps coming up is Amazon S3. Are you still using S3Fox? Do you like it? Anything bad about it? And how about S3? Would you recommend it as a good place to store backups?

Thanks,

Jon

Re: Stephen Fry and #oddsox

Wow. In fairness to both apps I "maximised" them. They usually don't take up the whole screen nor have lots of empty space.

Re: UI: Songbird vs. Spotify

I donno, Paul. Both of those apps are ugly. I mean, how hard is it to display a huge list of songs? You're right about Songbird's bad font, but Spotify pisses away the advantage by choosing a horrible low-contrast color scheme; i had an easier time reading titles in the former.

And what's with the messed up spacing? Both apps appear to chew up the whole screen, yet shove everything to the left leaving a big empty space on the right. What about a bit of a margin between that bulky useless sidebar and the list? Or maybe use it to display info on the currently playing track, or a nice animation or something. Heck, since you're blocking my view of everything else, maybe let me see incoming emails? Or at least a clock? Or, god forbid, put some frickin' labels on those tiny little buttons?

Ugh. I'm sure the differences you focus on are more noticeable in use than in screenshots, but i'm simply disgusted by how *both* apps look like shoddy iTunes / Napster knock-offs circa 2001. For shame...

Re: Stephen Fry and #oddsox

Heh... For those of us that are running custom firmwares on our phones we have a program called Categories. It allows you to create "folders" that you can customize to hold different categories of apps ie a Games icon when touched opens up a page that holds all of your game icons, web folder that holds all of your web clips, a utilities folder that holds all of your utility apps...etc etc. So even if you have 160 apps you don't have themfilling up pages.

This idea would be very cool and tremendously sought after if it can be achieved.

Re: Rumba roomba, cat

that is so funny.
