Woke up this morning to find that Google Reader thinks I have thousands of unread items. Last night I had 0 unread items. AutoBlog went from 0 to 659 unread items in a matter of hours, 90% of them I have read yesterday, the day before and so on. There were only about 5 new [...]

I don't want to think of feeds as emails (and don't use my email program as a feedreader for that reason...), but i fail to see how you've made an argument here...

Google Reader shouldn't change (just fix the bug) but it would be nice if it allowed me to specify which feeds I want to see unread counts on and which to just let slide by on the river of news.
