Comment Turk

Having recently been hit by spam bots on this site and finding the automated solutions to be ineffective it struck me that a Comment Turk is in order. This would be a system that makes use of human comment moderation, farming it out through Amazon’s Mechanical Turk.

That's an excellent idea! You should totally build that. It's perfect because you could actually take advantage of both human and automated approve/rejection: auto-approve comments from trusted commenters, auto-reject comments that contain blacklisted URLs or which match some other patterns, and feed the rest to Mechanical Turk for human judgement.

We have already prototyped such a product at our HIT-Builder.com web site. Please make an account on the site and checkout the Form Filter tab and the guest book filter demo (useful for Blogs as well). Let us know what you would like it to look like.
