Spotlight has been rejiggered in Leopard. Now it displays the names of matching *programs* instantaneously, before Spotlight has built the rest of the menu of results. And a simple Enter is all that’s necessary to open the first listed result (not Command-Enter). In all, find

why?
-DTrace. As an engineer this is a huge new step. The benefits for applications are downstream but it think they will be far reaching.
-Performance improvements. Each Mac OS has improved on the same hardware. and spotlight is seemingly a lot more usable.
-I'm a sucker for upgrades
